While driving to a session yesterday, I got to thinking about relationships. The pseudo-connection we all feel by stalking Facebook updates and Instagram posts. I happen to know quite a bit about some people who I very rarely talk through the magic of the Interwebs. It’s interesting at the same time that it irks me. I mean, what would I talk about if we randomly bumped into each other on the street? In place of excitement and surprise of this rare sighting, I’d most likely stammer out some lame comment about a photo I saw of them on Facebook and move along. Human interactions are getting preeettyyy dur.

So, to switch things up a bit this dreary morning, here are 5 things you may not know about me and that you can’t find out online
{or at least I don’t think you can}.

😉

1. I hate the telephone. I abhor phone conversations, loath voicemail and physically cringe when I see I have a missed call. Why? I have no idea. It’s been a goal of mine for a very, very long time to get better at telephone etiquette, but…it haunts me.

2. I like to cook. When I can’t find time to get in the kitchen, my system feels a bit off. When I feel overwhelmed or have to contemplate a business decision, I head to the kitchen. This being said, I find it nearly impossible to cook for only two people and often end up with boat loads of leftovers…or calling our friend, Darrin, to come over and help us out {kid is like a human version of a trash compactor}. I can make a mean loaf of artisan bread and my pâte brisée is getting pretty stellar, too. {Basically just French for super awesome pie crust with loads of butter.}

3. I have a mild obsession with water glasses. We have at least 7 glasses half-full of water sitting on my side of the headboard at any given time and I only realized that this was a problem when Mr. Nick highlighted it in a pre-wedding bridal shower game. My bad.

4. I have never met/seen-in-real-life- a famous person. Is that not the saddest statement you have ever heard in your entire life? Ugh, it brings me down everyday and I hope that one day that will change. Actually, sometimes I wonder if celebrities even exist if not for tabloids, movies, books, and trash television. If, however, they do exist, I would like to see one some day. My vote is to have a run-in with Sean Connery. Or Will Smith. Or Batman.
{I’m not too picky.}

5. Travel is my first love. Planning, doing or conversing about anything to do with travel gets my gears going. I {heart} travel. For any purpose or excursion, if traveling anywhere is involved, chances are, I’m in. Prior to the big 3-0, it’s a  a goal of mine to visit the remaining states that I have yet to touch ground in and I sincerely hope to cross this goal off my list in 7 months. I think there’s about 13 or so left…we shall see.

Whelp, that rounds up that post as well as my goal of posting every day in October!! With the exception of last weekend, I got in a post a day for a total of 31 posts in the last 31 days. I hope you’ve enjoyed them–see you on the flip side!!
