So much about this day was what they had both waited for together for so long. The decorations were set just so and all the plans had been executed right down to the finest detail. The reception hall was beautiful, the day was sunny with a breeze. Dresses were hung, pressed and ready to be worn. Celebratory champagne had been poured and cheers made. Flowers were perfectly chosen and arranged. All their closest friends and favorite families gathered to offer smiles, anecdotes, hugs, congratulations and their everlasting love and support. He adjusted his cuff links and his flower was fastened as his groomsmen looked on. She adorned her dress, alone with her mom, and shared a hug that seemed to express so much of what words could not. She quietly gilded into her bridesmaids room to share her transformation…she was getting married today.
Slowly she walked up to him, as his bride. He turned, as her groom. They both smiled, laughed, embraced and then felt that the day had begun.
Finally, it was their wedding day.
