I’ve been reading The Book Thief of late and have thoroughly been enjoying the writing style. The author seems to carve the words out of thin air with adjectives and descriptions that makes you feel like you’re actually present on Himmel Street, conversing with Death. I enjoy all sorts of books and am rather surprised to be encapsulated by this particular time and genre. However, the topic of words, in general, gets me a titch excited as I’m a bit of a nerd. I’m a terrible speller and my descriptors tend to be rather limited to terms like ‘blast’ or ‘awesome’ {with the occasional string of expletives that bursts forth announced at times…like when my wiper broke off going down a highway in a snow storm this morning. Perfect timing, eh.}…such is life.

Reminds me of powdered sugar…which, in turn, reminds me that we’re out of cookies at home. Blast.
Well, like it or not, ’tis the season of cold, wiper-flying windshields, asphalt-grazing snowblowers and whispy snowflakes…and it makes summer sessions like Christina’s seem just that much more decadent and beautiful!
Decadent is a great descriptor and beautiful is so true…lovely pictures.
