I’ve always been a huge fan of Throwback Thursdays, but I can never seem to remember to get in on it in time…till now.

😉

This session came into my brain after seeing Laura post some of Alyssa’s tea party birthday photos on Facebook. It was just a few days before these awesome people were about to fly me out to Denver for an 10th anniversary session and my brain was swirling…With mom’s southern roots and daughter’s curious nature and only a week or so past her 4th birthday…and all that beautiful color and potential for sweet moments…I knew I had to come up with something. As serendipity would have it, that very same day I started mulling it over in my brain, I happened to click over to Iowa Girl Eats to scroll through her brightly colored blog {because, seriously, who doesn’t love food pics and recipe ideas?!}…when what to my wondering eyes shall appear but information that IGE’s soon-to-be sister-in-law has is a Denver-based baker who specializes in, get this, hand painted macaroons.

Shut. Your. FACE!

I mean, could that BE any more tea-party-esque?!

Side note :: If ever you find yourself in need of sweets and something special and you also just happen to be located in the Denver area…you best be hitting up Honeycombe Denver. Holy super awesome nummy treats, Batman! These macaroons melted in your mouth-no joke. Plus, all I asked for was a tea party theme {and one ‘A’ cookie for the birthday girl!} and let Kelly roll with the rest of it. And, WOW, did she rock it! Look at that fanciful hand painting and incredible attention to detail?! Plus, of no doing on anyones part in particular, scope out all the colors that just seem to work with each other. Seriously. This set was so rockin’ fun.

Anywho, continuing on.

I asked Laura to gather her collection of tea time accoutrements and I would take care of the rest. While Laura and Lyssa curled their hair and donned some pearls, I got to work in their picture perfect backyard…and then, my friends, we spun and we danced and we laughed and we poured and we chatted while nibbling on special treats and together we created these precious fleeting memories…
