The past couple days I’ve been getting up when it’s dark and, truth be told, I’ve been enjoying it. If you were ever to draw up a list of people you knew who were of the morning variety, I would not be one of the first individuals who came to mind. Especially this time of year when our windows are still open and waking with a thin layer of frost veiling your face isn’t an anomaly. Snuggling deeper under the covers until the sunlight blasts your eyelids open–that’s my kind of alarm clock. However, the ‘busy season’ of a photographer doesn’t allow for this particular breed of lounging in the pre-holiday months. So I have been rising early, confusing the pup, brewing stronger-than-normal coffee and putting in some quality time with the Mac. It has been rather nice beginning the day with a few quite moments. Perusing Instagram while the coffee perks, slurping up some Frosted Flakes while crushing it {Candy Crush reference}, staring out at the pup as she makes her morning rounds about the yard while I create my daily to-do list in multicolored inks.
It’s the little things.

I met Kari a couple months ago when I photographed sweet little Clara’s 4-month milestone. We met again for her and Coleman’s engagement session on a beautiful summer evening and I couldn’t resist a few family shots as well. I think Kari looks like a prettier Taylor Swift, don’t you agree? Coleman, you are one lucky guy! I’m so happy for all my 2014 couples; it’s only November and I’m already looking forward to next summer…!!!

[…] to start a summer weekend!! Then we battled out the strange weather conditions Saturday to capture Coleman and Kari’s lovely wedding {dense fog, heavy humidity, rain, heat, wind, blasts of sunshine…it was nuts!} […]
