It’s always fun getting to meet clients for the first time. Wondering what they will be like, what makes them tick, how broad their smiles are. Will they belly laugh or slightly giggle? Are they more serious and calm or boisterous and energetic? What different poses will we come up with, how do they love each other…the random lists of questions that run through my head on the way to a first-time session is…well, to be perfectly upfront, it’s spastic, unpredictable, lively and excited. I likes.

And then when I get to meet up with clients for the second {third, seventh, twelveth…} time!? It’s pretty much the same. I wonder about what has changed since the last time, will the kiddos be taller, will mom’s hairstyle be different, will dad still snuggle…all the feels, just a bit more honed in.

When I was driving to meet up with the Colemans, (our second session together) I recall thinking about the girls’ love for volleyball and whether or not that would still surface for us during this particular day. Did Dad still absently grab for mom’s hand without thinking about it? Was Brenly’s hair still killer blonde? Would Greely still be such a love? Would the sisters still have that sweet, special bond?!

Turns out…some things, the good things, just never change.
