If there were anything that makes five inches of rain water in your basement and a nearly-washed-out garden better, I would submit that it would be love. The love I have for our pup as I carried her large self down the stairs while the lightening deemed her incapacitated. The love the Mr. has for me as he patiently wadded across our lake basement to carry up my equipment and pack it in my Blaze before heading over to the neighbors to see if they needed any more help with their rising water levels. The love/hate I share for our home as I sat helplessly watching the water rise…only later to see photographs on Facebook and realize that our problems are mere drops in the bucket. This would be the third serious flooding we’ve experienced in 14 months, not to mention a less than dry start to 2013. After an extremely wet and frustrating spring, a family friend posted the following on Facebook ::

“About 20 years ago we were having a spring just like this one. Wet, cold; couldn’t get anything done. Frustrated with the situation I was venting to my dad. When I was done ranting and raving he calmly said, “Well it’s time to do what we did in the old days when it got wet.” With much anticipation I quickly asked, “What that was!?!?” He simply replied, “We let it rain”.

So, I’m pulling back my frizzed out hair {seriously way too much moisture in this house!}, grabbing my gear and heading out to witness love in its most benevolent and beautiful stage as Elizabeth and Tony begin their life together today. Never mind the rain, it’s wedding time!

And, to put icing on top of getting to photograph a wedding today, I’m gonna blog a wedding today, too.

Delaney and Brad had an absolutely beautiful wedding at Legend’s Golf Club. We joked about how the weather played out as though it was just for them {it rained for about 7 seconds when we were inside and then became sunny…then down-poured immediately following the ceremony…and then was sunny and beautiful to cap the night. Perfection.}. Their girls nearly stole the show, but in the end it came back to this beautiful couple, so very much in love.
