It’s like Christmas morning!!!

It came, it came!! What a wicked storm it was! Wind whipped at our bedroom window and I could hear icy snow chucks tumbling down our room through all hours of the night. It was as glorious as I hoped it to be!! I cannot even remember the last time we had such beautiful pillows of snow piled waist high on the street corners. People are claiming polar vortex, I say welcome back, Minnesota winter! It’s butt-freezing outside, so I doubt the pup and I will get much flurry-time action today, but that won’t stop me from staring wistfully outside again and again throughout the day. The crisp white drifts paired with the bright warm sunrise was pure joy to my heart. Seasons are what makes the world go round. And basil. Basil pulls its fair-share of twirling, too.

I’m beginning to think I’m either incredibly adventurous or ridiculously out of touch in regards to creating a realistic to-do list. Yesterday, after accomplishing about six of the 34 tasks I had planned, ended in a heap of dark chocolate pecan cookies and a glass of red wine before heading to bed at 9:12pm. Yeah, I’m wildly out of control like that. No judging, please.

Here’s hoping today will be a bit more full in cross-offs and check marks. It’s a big wide world out there; gotta get stuff done!
Note to self, add puppy love to the list.

Before owning our American Bulldog, Norah, {whoop, whoop!}, I was most certainly an outside dog person. I liked the occasional pet, allowed a little hand licking {from the dog, not me} and then…that was about it. I didn’t understand people who spoke to their dogs, picked up their poop {eeewwww!}, dressed them in clothes and pretty much treated their canine friend as people. Now that I have a dog…I do all of that. And then some. I bake Nor-dog treats. She currently has a puffy coat, two sweaters and a Halloween costume. We have our own language. We cuddle. Our house is full of dog hair. We have a standing rotation of dog-sitters. It’s okay.

And now I have a clear understanding between the invaluable relationship between a dog and their people. Jared and Louise brought their hilarious little pups along for their engagement session–never knew it was possible to have that much personality in such a teeny smooched puppy, but it’s true. These pups rule the roost, but that’s okay because together, they make one super cute puppy loving family.
