After a whirlwind adventure through Italy and the Netherlands over Thanksgiving, through another seemingly-quicker-every-year Christmas season, I find myself puttering around the house wondering where all the time went. So many cookies, great Christmas memories, surprise presents, fun games, delicious food and time with family…we’ve got one more Christmas celebration this coming weekend {hooray for drawn-out holidays!} and then it’ll already be time to toss out the tree and pack up the sparkling decorations.

Sigh. Until next year.

Looking out the window at the frosty landscape has me mostly dreaming of an epic snowstorm…come on, Mother Nature!!…while also simultaneously making plans for the golden sunny days of summer. You know the kind-a wisp of a breeze, the sun warm on your shoulder, the giggle of a sweet little guy ringing in your ear…even though we had much more than a gentle breeze, it was still a beautiful summer day for Mr. Axel’s first birthday session and cake smash. A cameo school bus appearance from his great-grandfather’s fleet, chubby cake-covered goodness and a swell of colorful birthday balloons {ha-complete with the birthday suit!} made for a laughter-filled celebration.
