I am often asked about what my favorite subject is to photograph. My usual script includes something along the lines of people {landscapes, real estate, pets…not my jam}, in-between moments and love. Sometimes the conversation is more generic than others, but the basic theme is still the same.

But when I get a few moments to really think about it…

I think the ‘thing’ that I really enjoy the most is the in-between moments that people have when they’re showing their love. The gentle brush of an impending embrace, the giving of an unexpected gift, the burst of laughter, the happy dance. The showing of love between two people.

I think that’s why I so thoroughly enjoyed Skipp and Liz’s wedding. Love was simply everywhere. In his brother’s hilarious officiant outfit, on her ladies faces as they watched their friend shine in her bridal down. It twirled in the kids’ lighthearted steps as they played and danced and laughed about the venue. It danced on the cool breeze as their guests loudly cheered when the couple was announced married.

It shone brightly on his face when he saw her for the first time and it positively radiated from her whole self as she beamed and jumped toward him, so eager to laugh and cuddle.

Yes, I believe that above all else, my favorite is love.
