Ahoy from the Eastern Seaboard! In trying to keep with my business goals, a few months ago I scoured the Interwebs for a workshop to expand my photographic skills and step out of my comfort zone. In January, I was feeling a bit blah and realized that the only way to keep myself motivated and learning is if I physically moved myself and reached out to gain knowledge from others. After a few no-gos and missed opportunities, I finally found the learning experience I was looking for. As most grown, independant women do, I immediately called my mom and asked if she wanted to come with. Where? She asked? I smiled and said Maryland. We booked our tickets that day.

I’ve been in the great state of the MD for one full day now and, I have to say, it is fully the bee’s knees. Or the cat’s pajamas. Either or. An easy flight and simple taxi hop to our hotel yesterday paired with a phenomenal day of learning for me and some sunny-day window shopping for my beautiful travel companion has left me feeling more inspired than ever to set my nose to the grindstone. I can hardly wait to get back to ‘class’ tomorrow! Oh, I simply cannot wait to apply what I’ve learned so far to my business as well as the new techniques I’ve picked up…yay!!! Cannot. Wait.

Anywho, until that magical day arrives when I step off the plane into the arctic, rainy tundra I call home…I’ll be continuously blogging sessions as well as a few snippets of our adventures. If you want to see more, follow me on Instagram, too! @sweetshibui Seems funny to think about, but upon arriving back home, I’ll nearly be setting up for our 6-month session of the Sweet Baby Program with little Teagan!! Here, she’s a teeny 3-months and oh-so-full of smiles and facial expressions…what a love!
